Our congregation has partnered with Midreshet Yerushalayim, an arm of the Schechter Institue, to open our own Beit-Midrash: Midreshet Hakerem. Midreshet Hakerem offers adult education courses to the public at large in four different languages.
Courses being offered this semester are:
"Jewish Values in Hollywood Films," led by Rabbi Reuven Resnick (Hebrew)
"Who Knows One: A Midrash Class," led by Ron Nissel (Hebrew)
"Seminar Calanit," led by Baruch Steimberg (Spanish)
"Jewish Social and Religious History," Rabbi Resnick and Tanya Tsadkin (Russian)
"Tea and Torah," led by Rabbi Resnick (English)
(Beginning Dec. 31st) "Introduction to Hasidism," Dr. Asaf Navaro (English)
In addition to ongoing classes, we also invite guest lecturers to participate in special Study Evenings. These lecturers have included Israeli best-selling author Yochi Brandes and Professor Ainat Ramon, specialist in Modern Jewish Thought.
