KEHILAT HAKEREM
Masorti egalitarian synagogue in Karmiel, established in 1974.
We provide a home for Israelis and Olim from English speaking and other countries who want to be part of a traditional community.
PRAYERS
Services are conducted in a traditional manner using tunes from both Ashkenazi and Sephardi communities. There is no 'mechitza' - families can sit together - men, women and children side by side.
Torah readers and cantors can be men or women as well as delivering the sermon.
Each participant can recite Kaddish, or bench Gomel.

STUDY
Midreshet Hakerem operates two semesters each year and invites you to participate in the weekly study courses led by learned Rabbis in a variety of topics such as G'marah, Rambam, Hebrew philosophy and history.
We are affiliated with Midreshet Shechter in Jerusalem.
FAMILY EVENTS IN THE CIRCLE OF LIFE
Judaism accompanies us through life from birth to grave.
Our community is provides meaningful ceremonies for Redemption of the Firstborn, Bar and Bat Mitzvah, Special Birthdays, Shabbat Hatan and funerals.

BAR and BAT MITZVAH
Our Kehila encourages boys and girls to celebrate their Bar or Bat Mitzvah in a traditional and modern way in our synagogue, including Torah reading and/or Haftarah and to give a sermon, followed by a Kiddush or dairy meal in our reception hall (up to 80 people).
Each event is tailored to the wishes of the family, and the boy or girl.
MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE - TIKKUN OLAM
Our community has programs for children via the local education system. We invite classes of all ages, from kindergarten to High School to come to the Synagogue, educate them about Jewish holidays, the importance of Torah in Jewish life and traditions.
We also hold events for adults such as Hafrashat Challa, community cooking for soldiers and more.
